QR Code Generator
Create QR codes with a custom logo, colors and styles — for URLs, WiFi, vCards and more. Everything is generated in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
Content Type
If you omit the protocol, https:// will be added.
Include the country code for best results.
💡 Tip: print this and stick it on your fridge — guests scan it to join instantly.
Style
Higher = more resilient, larger code.
Logo (optional)
⚠️ A logo covers part of the QR — we automatically use the highest error correction so it still scans.
Why use FreeLabTools QR Generator?
Most online QR generators send your data to a remote server. That might be fine for a marketing link, but it's a privacy problem when you encode a WiFi password, business card, or private URL. FreeLabTools generates QR codes entirely in your browser — your inputs never leave your device.
Supported QR types
- URL — links to websites, social profiles, landing pages.
- Plain text — any message readable when scanned.
- Email — opens the user's mail app with the address (and optional subject/body) pre-filled.
- Phone / SMS — one-tap dialing or pre-written text messages.
- WiFi — guests join your network by scanning, without typing the password.
- vCard — share contact info that saves directly to the phone's address book.
About logos and scanability
Embedding a logo "covers" part of the QR. To stay scannable, QR codes include error correction — redundant data that reconstructs the missing parts. When you add a logo we automatically switch to the highest level of error correction (H, around 30% redundancy). Keep the logo under ~30% of the QR area for best results.
Export formats
SVG is recommended for print and any size larger than a phone screen — it stays sharp at any resolution. PNG with transparent background is great for digital materials. JPG works well for social media but doesn't support transparency.
Frequently Asked Questions
- What can I encode in a QR code?
- URLs, plain text, email addresses, phone numbers, SMS messages, WiFi credentials and vCard contacts. Each type is optimized so scanners open the right app automatically.
- Can I customize the QR code colors?
- Yes. You can choose any foreground and background color, enable a transparent background, and select different dot shapes like rounded, dots or classy styles.
- What image formats can I download the QR code in?
- PNG, SVG and JPG. SVG is recommended for print (infinite resolution), PNG supports transparency for digital use, and JPG works well for social media.
- Is there a size limit for QR code content?
- The standard QR code limit is approximately 4,296 alphanumeric characters. However, shorter content produces smaller, faster-scanning codes. Keep content concise for best results.
- Is this QR generator free to use?
- Yes, unlimited QR codes with no watermarks, no sign-up required. Everything is generated in your browser — nothing is uploaded to any server.
