For Merge: multiple files (drag to reorder). For other operations: one file.
Files
Merge
Upload 2 or more PDFs. Drag the ⋮⋮ handles to reorder them. The output will contain all pages in the order shown.
Split — Page Range
Use commas to combine. Ranges are inclusive. Numbers outside the document are ignored.
Rotate Pages
Delete Pages
Compress
ⓘ For PDFs heavy in scanned images, savings depend on the original encoding. Already-optimized PDFs may not get much smaller.
Why edit PDFs in the browser?
Most online PDF editors send your documents to a server. That's fine for marketing brochures — but it's a real privacy problem for contracts, invoices, medical records, tax returns, or any document that contains personal data. FreeLabTools never sees your files: the entire workflow runs inside this page, using your browser's own resources.
What you can do here
- Merge — combine multiple PDFs into one, in the order you choose.
- Split — extract specific pages or ranges (for example
1-3, 5, 8-10). - Rotate — turn pages 90°, 180° or 270° individually or all at once.
- Delete pages — remove unwanted pages by clicking the thumbnails.
- Compress — re-save with optimized object streams to reduce file size.
About file sizes
Everything runs in your device's memory, so very large PDFs (over ~100 MB on a phone or ~150 MB on a desktop) can cause browser slowdowns or out-of-memory errors. The colored size meter above warns you before that happens. If you hit the red zone, we recommend compressing the file first or splitting it into smaller chunks.
Privacy summary
Powered by pdf-lib for manipulation and Mozilla's pdf.js for rendering page thumbnails. Both are mature open-source libraries used by major applications. Neither makes any network calls with your data.
